#Familyhood is a community development strategy that utilizes schools as the center. #Familyhood is driven by two main mottos’ 1) #Friendsofschool motto which states, ” every school shall have a functioning Student Government Association, Parent Teacher Association and Alumni Associations.” 2) The Mo’ Better Food motto: “every school shall have a garden, a farmers market and a grocery store.”#1stsaturdays is the “do now” strategy to advance any community towards #Familyhood. #1stSaturdays represents the 1st Saturday of each month as the official monthly volunteer/recruitment day at school sites.
